The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Disposal Unit issues a warning that fireworks such as firecrackers, cherry bombs, quarter sticks of dynamite, and blockbusters are illegal and people transporting these materials are subject to arrest on charges of illegal transportation of explosive devices, risking a catastrophe, and arson, assault, and other charges stemming from the use of fireworks. We ask the general public to think of the safety of their neighbors and children and enjoy fireworks at public displays that are managed by well-trained, licensed professionals. Please consider that home-made explosives as well as commercial-grade fireworks are extremely dangerous and can cause serious bodily harm and death.
